Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for Supply Chain Analyst at our Corporate office in Richmond, Virginia. This position will support the Supply Chain Manager, Sales and Purchasing Agents to collect and analyze sales and sales forecasts.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to play a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Mattress and Consumer supply chain operations within Carpenter Co. Their primary responsibility is to analyze the Mattress and Consumer supply chain, including actual to forecasted sales and production, inventory levels, and demand forecasting.
Your additional responsibilities as Supply Chain Analyst will include:
- Data Analysis: Analyze Mattress and Consumer supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction opportunities using SAP ERP system.
- Demand Forecasting: Develop accurate Mattress and Consumer demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and input from sales to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Inventory Management: Optimize Mattress and Consumer inventory levels by implementing inventory control strategies such as reorder point calculations, safety stock management, and inventory turnover analysis.
- Supplier Management: Evaluate supplier performance based on factors such as on-time delivery, quality, and cost, and collaborate with Director of Operations and Corporate Supply Chain to give input on negotiations and terms.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in supply chain processes and propose and implement solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs while maintaining high levels of service and quality.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present reports to communicate key supply chain metrics and performance indicators to key stakeholders across the organization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, accounting, sales, and IT to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with overall business goals and objectives.
Skills / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years’ experience in sales analysis and inventory planning
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or statistical software
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts, including inventory management, demand forecasting, logistics, and procurement
