Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Specialist at our Ferdinand, IN manufacturing plant.  This position will support the efficient operation of the office by performing a variety of administrative, clerical and customer service tasks, as well as day-to-day payroll and human resource functions/duties.  

Essential Functions:

  • Review and process timecard changes and exception codes in Kronos
  • Complete timecard sign-offs and other payroll functions on a weekly basis
  • Track daily attendance for all hourly employees 
  • Issue attendance warnings in compliance with the Company attendance policy
  • Answer phone calls in a timely manner
  • Create customer parts and shipments
  • Key customer orders, PO's for supplies, and enter STO's for the plant
  • Keep up with trim that ships to the Russellville plant
  • Scan POD's 
  • Production planning
  • Inventory

Job Requirements:

  • GED or High School diploma required, additional education is a plus
  • 1-3 years administrative/clerical/payroll experience
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • High degree of confidentiality
  • Consistently and accurately file, and maintain good organization
  • Positive attitude and people skills; understanding and respecting our employees and customers
  • Detail oriented and logical, able to recognize exceptions and troubleshoot to resolve problems
  • Ability to deal tactfully with difficult people and/or peculiar situations
  • Good attendance
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus but not required
