Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a an experienced and goal oriented Sales Representative to develop and maintain customer relationships throughout the U.S. and Canada for the Consumer Goods division at Carpenter. This segment includes a product portfolio of Polyurethane Foam and converted Foam Products within Consumer Goods industries. 

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Sales Representative, you will be expected to understand the sales process beginning with developing and executing strategies for targeting new business and ending with a collaborative and innovative approach to closing new business. 

Your additional responsibilities as Sales Representative will include:

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with new and existing customers to ensure that they receive exceptional service and identify new sales opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver product demonstrations and customer presentations
  • Forecast, track, and analyze historical and forecasted sales while understanding and analyzing the competitive market place
  • Review customer orders for accuracy and on-time shipping
  • Partner with customers to develop innovative products applicable to the market segment
  • Request pricing and samples, as needed
  • Complete and submit weekly reports, such as call reports, expense reports and car mileage reports
  • Travel to visit customers, attend event and/or trade shows up to 50%

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or other related discipline
  • Some prior commercial sales or marketing experience
  • Understanding of consumer goods
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Proactive critical thinker and problem solver
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout the U.S. and Canada
