Purchasing Clerk
Job Description
Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Clerkat our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is the point of contact for all incoming/outgoing deliveries within the plant, and responsible for supporting the accounts payable functions and inventory control. Must have prior experience working in administrative/shipping/receiving/purchasing/customer service.

Responsibilities of the Purchasing Clerk:
- Purchases goods and services, equipment, office supplies, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous items for the plant.
- Assign general ledger account numbers. Determine tax liability on purchase requisitions.
- Research inquiries and resolve problems regarding orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Assists Receiving Coordinator with completed packing slips and delivery tickets, providing to accounts payable for processing.
- Prioritize and review all invoices related to plant purchases.
- Research projects as requested by the Division Accountant.
- Works with Accounts Payable Specialist to troubleshoot problems with material receipt or backorders.
- Prepare purchasing reports as requested by management
- Control petty cash

Skills / Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- At least 1 year manufacturing or warehouse experience.
- At least 1 year administrative/coordinator experience.
- Proficient in PC and Software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong math skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must work independently and as a team.
