Carpenter Co. has a great opportunity available for a Operation's Trainee located at our Division in Lakeland, FL. This opportunity will allow you to learn our business, manufacturing processes, and skills necessary to develop into a Manager or Supervisor role.

Job Responsibilities:

This entry level position is a great way to start a professional career with an opportunity to develop into a Manager within our company. In this position you will become familiar with processes, machinery, and supervision of manufacturing procedures. In this position you will be performing auditing of incoming, in-process and finished product.  Audit processes for correct methods and materials being used to produce the product.  You will be working with the Plant Manager and will assist in the operation, management, and supervision of the departments. Individuals who have started in this position have moved into management positions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to customer, internal, regulatory/legal requirements, and ISO 9001:2015. Oversee inspection of materials, ensuring that they meet requirements. Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products. Document testing procedures, Production Part Approval Process, methodologies and/or criteria. Report to top management on the performance of the QMS, including the need for improvement. Conduct periodic management review meetings. Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices. Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, and issues with respect to product (service) quality. Work closely with manufacturing operation department managers to identify and resolve production and quality system deficiencies. Address customer’s concerns for fast resolution and satisfaction. Enable continuous improvement, and learning through coaching across functional areas and employees through training and communication of quality initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Manufacturing/Industrial related discipline is preferred
  • 2 – 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, production facilities is preferred
  • 3-5 year Quality Control experience preferred
  • Ability to work successfully in an autonomous environment
  • Capability to work under just-in-time and lean manufacturing theories
  • Great organization skills
  • Leadership potential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and be willing to work as a team member in a “hands-on" production environment
