Carpenter Company has an immediate opening for 2nd shift Material Handler/Forklift in the Carpet Cushion department at our Temple TX manufacturing plant.  Start time 4:00pm.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence.  The successful candidate will be expected to communicate with management, excel in customer service skills, and work well independently. 

Responsibilities of this position:

 Operate powered industrial trucks to pick up, move, or load material in support of Carpet Cushion operations, as necessary, from production area and/or to the loading docks.

  1. Pull raw/finished materials from inventory/stock area.
  2. Properly label all partial blocks for future use.
  3. Operate a forklift in confined areas where other forklifts are operating and where employees are walking and working.
  4. Follow the Carpet Cushion department layout plan for proper storage locations.
  5. Read and completely understand the labeling process.
  6. Read and write English.
  7. Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment
  8. Other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills / Requirements

Must have high school diploma or GED

Must be able to accurately read and interpret a basic tape measure

Must be able to read and completely understand the labeling process and read/write English

Must have forklift skills and pass certification

Basic computer skills
