Job Description

The Account Manager will develop and maintain customer sales for bedding product accounts.  Plan and implement sales by developing strategies, initiate innovation and communication while understanding the business model though planning and organizing. Thorough and effective communication with both Carpenter personnel and customer base must be maintained. Timely follow up and problem resolution for the company and its customers is required.   Position requires effective time management and travel when necessary.  This is a remote opportunity working from a home office

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, update and prioritize customer account List while also exploring new customer and new market opportunities; relationship selling at all levels
  • Travel for customer visits, events, and trade shows/markets as needed
  • Prepare/develop customer presentations
  • Forecast, track, and analyze key account matrices
  • Know and analyze competitive market place
  • Develop short and long term customer strategies based on the market information and assortment
  • Communicate with customers on a consistent basis as needed
  • Store visits and competitive shopping to better understand the market place
  • Forecast and communicate monthly sales
  • Develop products applicable to the market segment
  • Communicate needed product specs and prepare them for internal costing
  • Analysis customer sales at the retail and ecommerce level
  • Analysis customer sales and profitability internally for Carpenter
  • Assist with resolving customer compliance issues; as needed
  • Ability to learn and utilize SAP
  • Prepare weekly sales report

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in sales account responsibility
  • Experience in managing key accounts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Retail and manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to travel 4  to 5 overnights per month
