Job Description

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Office Assistant at our corporate office in Richmond, VA. This position is responsible for greeting visitors, answering incoming calls and supporting various departments with administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate professionally with internal and external customers as well as all levels of management.  

Additional responsibilities of the Office Assistant:

  • Answer incoming switchboard calls and direct caller to the appropriate person or department
  • Greet visitors
  • Assist various departments with filing, mailings and other clerical tasks
  • Back up the HR Administrator for daily meeting and board meeting set up and clean up
  • Assist President with administrative tasks as needed

Skills / Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 1+ year(s) of prior office experience
  • Prior switchboard/reception experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
