Inventory Control Technician

Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Inventory Control Technician at our Riverside, California manufacturing plant reporting to the Maintenance Manager.  This position communicates daily with the Maintenance Manager, other employees and Management. The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for maintaining the parts crib and all inventory associated with maintenance. Research and ordering parts as needed for everyday maintenance work utilizing a PC, phone and/or fax machine.  This position works in a normal production environment with exposure to temperature changes.

 

 Position Description

  • Receive incoming materials for maintenance department.
  • Checks material received to correctness of delivery.
  • Delivers material to proper area.
  • Identifies, knows location of, and handles various kinds and sizes of storeroom items.
  • Place received material into proper storage location.
  • Maintain inventory records of storeroom items, receipts, usage, lead time, physical count, etc.
  • Send packing slips and delivery tickets to designated person.
  • Take periodic inventory of storeroom items and parts and check current status.
  • Issue store items to persons having properly authorized store orders.
  • Data entry in databases, job order and purchase entries.
  • Maintain “Value of Order” in assigned work areas, including maintenance areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.   

 

Requirements and Experience

  • High school education or GED.
  • 3 years related experience in a maintenance/manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills
