Carpenter Co. has an opening for a Facilities Coordinator at our corporate office in Richmond, Virginia. This position is responsible for assisting the Facilities Supervisor in overseeing the day to day operations of the corporate office facilities.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to perform various clerical and administrative duties related to supporting the corporate office facilities.

Your additional responsibilities as Facilities Coordinator will include:

  • Ensures printers, copiers, electrical and plumbing is in proper working order and available for use.
  • Maintains physical space including common areas and workstations, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. Minor maintenance repairs may be required.
  • Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved efficiently and per company protocol.
  • Acts as secondary liaison between employees and any outside contractors (electrical, HVAC, plumbing etc.) needed to resolve problems.
  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility and assists in scheduling elevator and fire/sprinkler tests.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
  • Assists in delivering company mail which may require routine trips to other local facilities in a company provided vehicle.
  • Responds to after hours alarms at the corporate office as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One or more years of related facilities or project management experience• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.
  • Familiarity with building operation systems.
