Machine Operator

Operator all equipment in the carpet cushion department ( all equipment listed below) while meeting production and quality standards for the department. Collect appropriate data and document. Equipment: Baumer, Windup, Laminator, Baler, End sealer/Elevator, Glue Guns, Forklift will also be required to operator the Overhead Rebond Cranes on a rotational basis.

This position requires the following minimum qualifications:

  • Will also be trained to perform the following positions: Crane Operator & Gluing of slabs, Dock Checker & Dock Loader.
  • Machine operator experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of learning to safely and efficiently operate several pieces of equipment in the Dept.(Looper, Laminator, Windup, elevator, Bombay system and drive forklift)
  • Experience working with a team. Team orientated.
  • Must be able to do basic math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong computer knowledge and ability to learn SAP system.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Must know how to accurately use a tape measure/Decimal gauge.
  • Frequently lift and maneuver carpet cushion rolls on and off the line weighing up to 80       lbs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and managers.
  • Must work overtime as needed on a limited notice to fill customer’s demands.
  • Will label rolls and load C/C rolls onto trucks using squeeze forklifts.
  • Maintain Value of Order in the Department.
  • Must be able to train on 1st shift(5AM-4PM) and also able to work flexible 2nd shift hours: 2PM-10PM or 4PM-12AM.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree Preferred.
  • One year machine operation experience and machine operating experience.
